Le Château de Rosnay was built in 1860 by Sir Guyet, the largest wine maker and land owner in the area. At the time, he was the leading producer and the best known. Gabriel JARD has been mayor of rosnay from 1950 to 1958, obtained with his son Gilles, the first gold medal for the fief vendéens wines in 1950.
Gilles Jard is today 83 years old, he spends his life to " défendre " and make progress wine of Mareuil. At 22years old, he has responsability in the trade union of vendee wine.
