
Le Château de Rosnay was
built in 1860 by Sir Guyet,
the largest wine maker and land owner in the area. At the time, he was the leading producer and the best known. Gabriel JARD and his son Gilles
owners of the property in 1948. They won their
first medal for the best rosé pinot noir vintage in Vendée at the wine open contest in PARIS in 1950.

Since, the Jard family has continued to develop the respect of traditions and environement.
Transmitted from the generation to the next, the family know how remains a perfect combination of the art and technique of wine making.

Installed in ROSNAY for more 100 years, the jard family produce some
wine of Mareuil.

Gabriel JARD has been mayor of rosnay from 1950 to 1958, obtained with his son Gilles,
the first gold medal for the fief vendéens wines in 1950.

Gilles Jard is today 83 years old, he spends his life to " défendre " and make progress wine of Mareuil.
At 22years old, he has responsability in the trade union of vendee wine.
He was president of the trade union in 1957 to 1984 . In this year, the wine of wine of fiefs vendeens obtain the
label VDQS.
